Do I need an API key?
No. Cerebro signs in through Claude Code or Codex with the subscription you already pay for — or points at a local model on your own hardware. There is no per-token meter and no surprise invoice at the end of the month.
Which models can I use?
Three rails, switchable per chat and per agent: Claude (Opus, Sonnet, Haiku) through your Claude subscription; OpenAI's GPT-5.5 and 5.6 family through your ChatGPT subscription via Codex; or local models through Ollama or vLLM — including your own fine-tune on a DGX Spark, a 4090 or a Mac. Cerebro is the operator; the model is your call.
Where does my data live?
On your machine. Memory, conversations, agent logs and screenshots are written to a folder you choose. Nothing is uploaded unless you send it somewhere yourself.
What's the difference between the memory server and Desktop?
The memory server is free and open source — plug it into Claude Code, Cursor or any MCP client and they stop forgetting. Cerebro Desktop is the full operator on top of it: agents, teams, browser, trading desk, devices and automations, in one seat.
How is this different from a chatbot?
A chatbot answers and forgets. Cerebro remembers last Tuesday, stands up a team of agents from one sentence, keeps working after you close the lid, and reports back with a clean result — not a wall of chatter.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from your account page. Your memory folder stays on your disk and keeps working with the free server.
Is it actually used, or is this a demo?
